Taking another higher leap in the education, St. Soldier Group of Institutions, Jalandhar signed a Memorandum of Understanding with leading American university California State University, San Bernardino. This MoU was signed by Dr. Albert K. Karnig President of CSU, Dr. Vipin Gupta, Professor CSU, Prof. Manhar Arora Managing Director St. Soldier Group of Institutions and Principal Dr. Sanjay Behl jointly.
According to the MoU, Both institutions will develop collaboration between their colleges, departments, administrative staffs, and professors through such means as exchanges, sabbatical leave assignments, lectures, conferences, internships, workshops, collaborative research, joint projects with business and industry, and professional development programs with all colleges and faculties. Further both institutions will exchange students, especially in the academic departments listed above. Special encouragement will be given to short term International Training, Education, and Research.
In addition to above agreed academic activities, students of St. Soldier Group of Institutions after completing their graduate courses can take direct admission in the Master’s courses offered by California State University.
Conveying their happiness for establishing relationship with the American University, Chairman Anil Chopra and Vice-Chairperson Sangeeta Chopra said “This MoU will benefit all the students acquiring technical education in St. Soldier Group of Institutions. Further this will bring synergic benefit due to developed American educational methodology and multi faculty courses run by our institutions.”
St. Soldier joins hand with UK College Burton and South Derbyshire
In an endeavor for giving global exposure to the students of St. Soldier Group of Institutions, Jalandhar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Burton and South Derbyshire College, UK. The MoU was jointly signed by Anil Chopra, Chairman St. Soldier Group of Institutions, and Dawn Ward, Chief Executive and Principal Burton and South Derbyshire College in the presence of Rajinder Mann Governor Burton and South Derbyshire, Ashok Kalia, Ex Mayor Derby City, Sangeeta Chopra, Vice-Chairperson , Manhar Arora Managing Director St.Soldier Group of Institutions in a press conference.
Addressing to media persons Prof. Manhar Arora said “The objective of this MoU is to enter into a strategic link encompassing a variety of educational, technical and academic initiatives of mutual benefits to the students of both the institutions. We shall maintain close links and jointly consider effective ways of communication, such as video conferencing, online communications, visits and exchanges. Both the institutes shall indentify areas of common interest and share expertise and knowledge in relevant fields. Further Prof. Arora added that the Memorandum of Understanding shall remain valid for an initial period of three years, and shall be extended thereafter by tacit and mutual agreement. This relationship between two countries India and UK has opened new vistas for the students of this region.”
Dawn Ward told the media that they would evaluate staff exchanges, and set up opportunities for staff to develop curriculum initiatives and share examples of good practice. They would also identify areas of Staff Development initiatives by prior mutual agreement.
In his address Anil Chopra told that this endeavor is to serve as a conduit for good relations, in a small but significant way, between the two countries i.e. India and United Kingdom. Ashok Kalia the ex mayor derby City said “ It is a pride moment for me as our Indian institutes like St. Soldier Group of Institutions are now delivering services as of international standards and this agreement is recognition for it. All together this relationship will strengthen the academia and cultural exchange for students and members of faculty.
Capital School of Business and Management (UK) join hands with St. Soldier Group
Capital School of Business and Management (CSBM), UK signed up with St. Soldier Group of Institutions to offer Business Management programmes through various progression channels to Indian Students. Chairman Anil Chopra from St. Soldier Group of Institutions and Professor James Coates from CSBM(UK) signed the agreement in the presence of Peter Sharma, Director CSBM(UK) , Sangeeta Chopra, Vice-Chairperson , Manhar Arora Managing Director of St. Soldier Group of Institutions.
According to Manhar Arora “the relationship between CSBM and St. Soldier is specifically developed whilst looking at the future of higher technical education. For the first time in the region qualification of UK will be offered in the St. Soldier campus. Indian Students will study the same syllabus with same methods of delivery according to the UK standards as the students have in the UK. British teachers will come to India and in the campus to teach the undergraduate and graduate programmes. Apart from physical lectures, guest lectures will also be conducted through video conferencing. Students will be given virtual learning environment in which they can learn at their own pace. They can watch the recorded lectures at any time and can have an interaction online with their teachers. These courses will be assignments and project based, there will be no written examination.
Further Prof. Arora added that there would be two academic session in an year and admission will be done in the months of January and July every year. St.Soldier will start these courses in January 2012.
James Coates director CSBM told that on the successful completion of the programmes certificates, diplomas and degrees will be awarded by the British university which will be valid and accredited worldwide. Students can goto more than 150 universities of different countries for their further education if they want to.
