13th Late Sh. R.C. Chopra Memorial two-day National Moot Court Competition concluded.

13th Late Shri R.C Chopra Memorial National Moot Court Competition organized by St Soldier Law College. 40 teams represent 17 states and union territories i.e. Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Gujrat, Daman & Diu, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and many more participated in the competition. In the first day of the competition, all the 40 teams participated in three pre-liminary rounds before the division benches of 10 courts consisting of senior Advocates from Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar and Ludhiana. On the basis of scores of 6 Judges on various parameters of assessment, four teams were identified for Semi- finals held in the morning of second day. These were the knockout rounds. The semi- finals courts were presided over by retired sessions judges and senior Advocates. The finale was presided over by Justice M.S. Chauhan (Former Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court), S.K Aggarwal (RETD. Session Judge). Best Student Advocate and Second – Best Advocate were selected on the basis of scores of all 80 mooters obtained in three preliminary rounds. The Best researcher and Second-best researcher were identified in the basis of scores given to the Memorials submitted by the teams and got evaluated from two examiners. The proceedings of the competition were conducted under the bench of Justice M.S. Chauhan (Former-Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court), S.K Aggarwal (RETD. Session Judge) and presided over by St.Soldier Group’s Chairman Mr. Anil Chopra and Vice Chairperson Mrs. Sangeeta Chopra. All the guests were welcomed by Managing Director Prof. Manhar Arora and College Director Dr S.C. Sharma. In which Team of Army Institute of Law Mohali declared Winner Team and Institute of Law Kurukshetra University Haryana declared as a Runner Up amongst all the teams. 2nd Best Student Advocate – Punjab University RC Ludhiana, Best Researcher – G.H.G Institute of Law, Ludhiana, 2nd Best Researchers – Symbiosis Law School, Pune. The first-place team was honored with a prize of Rs. 21,000 and trophy and the runner up team honored with a prize of Rs 11000 and trophy Other than this Best Mooter and Best Researcher was honored with the cash prize 5100/-. Group Chairman Mr. Anil Chopra and Vice Chairperson Mrs. Sangeeta Chopra welcomed the students from different states and motivated them to take every challenge in life as an opportunity.
